Highlight a constellation:

01 · The challenge

Corporate energy buyers shortlisted only developers they had heard of, and Andesol had little press presence.

Chile's corporate power buyers — mines, ports, retailers and data centres — don't browse for a solar partner. Procurement teams draw up a shortlist of five or six names, and those names come from what they have read: the business pages, the energy trade press, the award tables.

Andesol Energía had better irradiance data than most rivals and projects in the best solar resource on Earth, but in that night sky it was invisible. With 26 referring domains and no press footprint, it rarely made a shortlist — 2 corporate PPA enquiries a quarter.

02 · Diagnosis

Six reasons the sky was dark.

  1. 01 · AuthorityCritical

26 referring domains, 17 of them directories or supplier pages. Median shortlisted rival: 240.

  2. 02 · PressCritical

Zero editorial mentions in Chilean business or energy press in the previous 24 months.

  3. 03 · Brand SERPHigh

Searches for “Andesol” returned a Peruvian hotel and a defunct mining blog before the company.

  4. 04 · ContentHigh

Five years of on-site irradiance data existed only as internal spreadsheets — nothing citable.

  5. 05 · LanguageHigh

English-only site; Chilean procurement teams and journalists search and write in Spanish.

  6. 06 · TechnicalMedium

No newsroom, no press-kit URL, and project data trapped in image-only PDFs that search engines cannot read.

03 · The strategy

Give journalists something worth citing: the sun itself.

Built on our Authority plan: instead of buying links, we turned Andesol Energía's private irradiance readings into public, Spanish-language assets — then made sure every newsroom in the north knew they existed.

  1. Digital PR

A monthly “Sol en cifras” data drop pitched to 140 journalists across business, energy and mining desks — each with a quotable stat, a regional angle and an embeddable chart.

  2. Spanish-language research

The Informe PPA Chile: a 28-page Spanish-language report on what corporate buyers pay, sign and regret, built from 61 procurement interviews and published as indexable HTML, not a PDF.

  3. Data visualisations

The Atlas de Irradiancia Atacama: five years of Andesol site readings turned into an interactive, embeddable heatmap with a credit-linked embed code — the campaign's link engine.

  4. Industry awards

Entries to four regional renewable-energy awards and two jury seats, each producing an organiser profile page and trade-press coverage that named Andesol beside the incumbents.
