Seven things we do properly,
and nothing we don’t.
Every price below is the price you pay, including the laboratory work, the review appointments and the retainer or guard at the end. We do not quote per component and we do not add a figure at the door.

Case study 118
Six days, two appointments, nothing drilled.
Kalina came to us for a chipped upper left central incisor. We rebuilt four upper edges in composite, levelled the incisal line against her lower lip and finished with supervised whitening. Nothing was prepared, nothing was removed, and the whole case is reversible.

The patient journey
Five steps, and no invoice you did not see coming.
Most people arrive having been quoted a number and nothing else. This is the whole sequence, written down, from the first hour to the ten-year review.
- 01
The first conversation
An hour with a clinician, not a salesperson. Photographs, a full health history, and an honest answer — including the times the answer is that you do not need us at all.
60 min · CHF 250, credited against treatment
- 02
Digital smile design
A two-minute 3D scan replaces impression trays. We design the proposed shape on screen beside a photograph of your own face, and you approve the proportions before anything is made.
Scan · CBCT only when it changes the plan
- 03
The trial smile
We build the design in temporary composite over your existing teeth and you live in it for a week. Eat in it, speak in it, photograph it. Then tell us exactly what to change.
7 days · nothing permanent, nothing removed
- 04
Treatment
Appointments are grouped so that patients travelling in come three times rather than nine. Sedation is available with an anaesthetist present for the whole visit.
Grouped visits · IV sedation optional
- 05
The next ten years
Hygiene every six months, a night guard included with every veneer case because grinding is what actually breaks porcelain, and complimentary polishing of composite work for two years.
12-month review included
The clinicians
Nine people, three chairs, one clinician per case.
Whoever plans your treatment carries it out and reviews it a year later. You will not be handed between associates.

Technology
Quiet equipment. Loud difference.
We buy equipment for one reason: it removes something unpleasant from your visit, or it makes the result more predictable. If a machine only makes the brochure better, it stays in the brochure.

- lower imaging dose than a standard CT

- 4.5×
- magnification on every preparation
3D intraoral scanning
Two minutes with a wand. No trays, no gagging, no impression material setting in your mouth while you count the ceiling tiles.
Field-limited low-dose CBCT
Three-dimensional imaging at up to 82% less dose than a standard scan, and only ever taken when it will change the plan.
Ceramics milled next door
Dario mills and layers in the room behind reception, so a shade adjustment takes twenty minutes instead of ten days and a courier.
Sedation with an anaesthetist
Dr. Rehm attends every IV sedation case. You keep your own airway and your own reflexes — you simply do not keep the memory.
Patient stories
In their words, three years and up.
I spent a decade covering my mouth in photographs. Six months later I have a set of teeth my own sister insists are the ones I was born with — which is the highest compliment I can pay a dentist.
I am the patient every practice warns you about. Nadine let me sit in the chair for twenty minutes doing absolutely nothing on my first visit. Nothing else in fifteen years had worked.
Thomas W., OerlikonSedation & restorative · 2024
I fly in from London three times for a case like mine. The block scheduling is the reason I chose Lumen over a clinic ten minutes from my flat.
Priya S., LondonAligners + edge bonding · 2025
The trial smile sold me. I wore it for a week, decided the edges were far too straight for my face, and they redesigned it before anything permanent happened.

Questions
The ones people ask in the car park.
If yours is not here, call Anja on +41 44 500 18 40. She has heard it before.
Will my insurance cover any of this?
Swiss basic insurance does not cover cosmetic dentistry and we will never suggest otherwise. Some supplementary policies contribute towards hygiene, restorative work and implants, and reception will help you submit. You receive an itemised Kostenvoranschlag, in writing, before anything begins.
Do veneers always look obvious?
Only when they are made to. We work at 0.3–0.6 mm, keep genuine translucency at the incisal edge and copy the small irregularities that make natural teeth read as natural. If you would like a brighter, more uniform result we will happily make it — after showing you the photographs of both.
I am genuinely frightened of dentists. What then?
Tell us when you book and it goes on the front of your file. Anxious patients are scheduled first thing in the morning, given double the usual time, and offered everything from noise-cancelling headphones to intravenous sedation with an anaesthetist present throughout.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Any treatment above CHF 3,000 can be divided across six or twelve months at 0% through our own practice account — no third-party lender, no credit check for existing patients. Vera at reception arranges it in about ten minutes.
How long will the work actually last?
Ten to fifteen years for well-maintained porcelain. Composite bonding wants refreshing around year five, which is why we polish it free for the first two. A night guard is included with every veneer case, because grinding — not chewing — is what breaks ceramic.
I live abroad. Is that workable?
Routinely. We begin with a video consultation, then block the treatment into two or three visits of roughly three nights each. Reception holds a room at the Seehotel across the road and can arrange a car from the airport.
