Digital PR
Each line-up phase was released to press as a story, not a poster: a data cut of 'most-streamed Rotterdam acts', a river-stage reveal, a set-times map. Journalists got an embargoed press page with a canonical URL to cite.
A fictional business. The figures are a modelled scenario, not a client result.

01Soundcheck
Every announcement went viral on social but earned no lasting links, so the festival's site barely ranked for its own genre and city searches.
A line-up post reached hundreds of thousands of feeds, press rewrote it, and none of that attention stuck to waalgloed.nl. Stories cited Instagram, resellers took the ticket searches, and with each new phase the site started again from nothing. The brief was to turn every announcement into links and rankings that last after the posts are forgotten.
A1Links
212 press articles named the festival in two years; 61% carried no link, and 41 linking domains pointed at dead 2019–2023 edition URLs.
A2Content
Line-ups were published only as Instagram images. Not one artist name existed as crawlable HTML on waalgloed.nl.
A3Technical
No Event schema anywhere. Google's event pack showed three ticket aggregators and never the festival itself.
A4Local
No genre or city landing pages, so 'techno festival rotterdam' ranked listings sites that charged the festival for placement.
A5Authority
Artists and agencies had nothing to link to: their tour pages pointed fans to Instagram or a reseller.
A6Technical
Every announcement lived on a single /news URL that was overwritten each phase, so the old ranking signals were thrown away each time.

02The stages
Built on our Authority plan. Every tactic does the same job: give each announcement a permanent URL that people are glad to link to.
Main stage
Each line-up phase was released to press as a story, not a poster: a data cut of 'most-streamed Rotterdam acts', a river-stage reveal, a set-times map. Journalists got an embargoed press page with a canonical URL to cite.
Riverside stage
Every booked act got a permanent artist page: bio, set time, stage and ticket link. Agencies and artists were sent a one-line ask to link their tour date to it, which 64 of them did.
Late-night tent
MusicEvent schema with performers, offers, location and dates on every day and every artist page, so the festival owned its own event result instead of renting it from resellers.
Silent disco
A monthly sweep of unlinked mentions and old edition URLs: 301s from the dead 2019–2023 pages, plus polite requests to add the missing link. 33 press links came back.
