Folio I · The challenge

Generative search answers about where to stay in Dubai cited only the big OTAs and global chains. The collection's bilingual content was thin and lacked clear entities.

Ask an assistant where to stay for a long weekend in the Gulf and it answered from the same handful of aggregators and chain blogs. Six characterful hotels, from a courtyard house in Al Fahidi to a camp in the Marmoom reserve, did not exist as distinct things a model could name. In Arabic, the language of half their guests, the gap was wider still.

Folio II · Diagnosis

Six findings from the audit

  1. Entity١

No Organization or Hotel entities: six properties shared one generic “About” page and no sameAs links to maps, registries or knowledge bases.

Fix: Entity home per property, Hotel + LodgingBusiness schema, containedInPlace for each district.

  2. AI answers٢

0 of 240 tracked staycation prompts cited the collection; 71% of cited sources were online travel agencies.

Fix: Answer-first passages, cited facts and named entities an assistant can lift verbatim.

  3. Bilingual٣

Arabic pages were machine-translated from English, with English slugs, no ar-AE hreflang and mixed-direction layout bugs.

Fix: Native Arabic editorial, Arabic slugs, reciprocal hreflang en-AE / ar-AE / x-default.

  4. Content٤

38 thin room pages under 150 words; no guides for Ramadan, Eid, summer or the desert season that Gulf residents actually search.

Fix: Four topic clusters, 64 guides, each pairing an English and an Arabic original.

  5. Technical٥

Booking-engine subdomain blocked from crawling and 4.8s LCP on mobile from uncompressed courtyard photography.

Fix: Crawlable rate snippets, AVIF images, LCP brought under 2.2s.

  6. Local٦

Business profiles listed the group address for all six properties; Hatta and Marmoom had no Arabic names.

Fix: One verified profile per property with bilingual names, categories and attributes.

Folio III · Strategy

Four engraved plates, one instrument

Built on our Content Engine plan: each tactic is a plate that only works when it is aligned with the others.

Plate 1

AI Overviews

إجابات الذكاء الاصطناعي

We tracked 240 staycation prompts across assistants each month and wrote for extraction: a 40-word answer under every H2, a dated fact table, and the specific numbers (rooms, minutes by abra, iftar hours) assistants prefer to quote.

Plate 2

Arabic-English content

محتوى عربي وإنجليزي

Each guide was written twice, not translated: Arabic-first for Ramadan, Eid and family travel searched by Gulf residents; English-first for expat weekends. Both versions share an entity graph and cross-reference through hreflang.

Plate 3

Entity SEO

تحسين الكيانات

The collection and six hotels became unambiguous entities: consistent names in both scripts, Hotel schema with amenities and geo, and sameAs links that let a model connect “بيت الفانوس” and “Lantern House” to one place.

Plate 4

Topic clusters

مجموعات المواضيع

Four clusters, Old Dubai heritage, beach families, desert and mountains, and the seasonal calendar, each with a pillar guide and spokes that link back like spokes of a rete to the property they serve.
